Scanning FTIR

Scanning FTIR is an optoelectronic multi-touch sensing technology that enables flat-panel, pressure sensitive multitouch sensing on nearly any display. By optically coupling a large number of IR emitters and IR sensors to a planar waveguide, the transmittance through the waveguide can be measured. Similar to CT scanning technologies, the final pressure image is an integral of measurements from all sensors and LEDs across each pixel.
